The 9th Women’s Asia Cup 2017 will take place in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan from 28 October – 5 November 2017. It is a continental championship and a qualifying competition for the Women’s Hockey World Cup taking place in London, UK, from 7 to 21 July 2018. The competition format is Two Pool Competition (cross-over classification matches)
Therefore, the Asia Cup is a key opportunity for the promotion of the sport within Asia and around the world, and the AHF aspires for this event to be delivered as a world-class sporting event that bring prestige to the sport, the host country, the Host NA and the AHF and attracts and engages with a broad range of stakeholders. The highest ranked team of the Women’s Asia Cup will qualify directly for participation in the Women’s Hockey World Cup 2018.
