The 60th Council Meeting of the AHF was held on 24th March 2012 at the Concorde Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Two sub-committee meetings were also held. The Competitions and the Umpiring Committees met in the morning of 24th March.
At the Council Meeting, the AHF President, HRH Sultan Azlan Shah urged member associations to focus on the core responsibilities of developing players and officials. In order to ?? ???????? ??????? facilitate this, the AHF Academy will be organising a technical and a coaching course later this year.
Earlier the Deputy President of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation, Puan Sri Noor Ashikin thanked the AHF for holding its meetings in Malaysia and welcomed all delegates to Kuala Lumpur
Among the decisions made at the Council meeting was the awarding of the hosting of the 2012 Mens Asian Champions Trophy to Doha, Qatar. The event will be held in December 2012. The hosting of the 2013 competitions were also confirmed.
It was also announced that a Women’s Sports Management Conference would be held in June 2012 in Kuala Lumpur.
Later HRH Sultan Azlan Shah also signed three commemorative hockey sticks for the Thai Hockey Association. The sticks will be exhibited at the associations various regional centres.
