The Asian Hockey Federation teamed up with the FIH Hockey Academy and Raja Ashman Shah AHF Hockey Academy to conduct courses. This happened alongside the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2017 from 27 April to 6 May 2017 in Ipoh, Malaysia. The AHF and FIH, in partnership with the World Academy of Sport, is initiating series of educational programs under the banner of FIH Hockey Academy.

FIH High Performance Coaching Course 27 April-1 May 2017 (25 participants)
FIH –AHF Raja Ashman Shah Level 2 Coaching Course 3-6 May 2017 27 (26 participants)
FIH –AHF Raja Ashman Shah Level 2 Umpiring Course 3-6 May 2017 (30 participants)
The courses are designed to combine experienced people to present the methods to play, coach, officiate and manage the sport of hockey. The participants are exposed to the best strategies and protocols to manage teams and high level tournaments. The courses are divided into 4 levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Umpiring and Coaching along with High Performance. To move through the ranks of coaching, umpiring and technical officials a participant must successfully complete each level.
The Asian Hockey Federation aims to assist the coaches, umpires, officials and players with the Educational Courses to enhance the quality of hockey across the globe.
