It was a hot sunny day to welcome friends of Hong Kong’s Elite Sports Club to participate in the Elite 40th anniversary tournament. During the previous weekend after a local club Skyers had claimed the ladies’ tournament title, the men’s and the youth teams started their road to glory on 29th August 2021.
Elite Sports Club has been one of the biggest local Chinese teams for the last four decades and has produced numerous Hong Kong National team players, as well as FIH umpires and technical officials. To celebrate the joy of hockey, Elite Sports Club hosted a 7-team women’s, 8-team men’s, and 4-team U15 youth tournament in the King’s Park Hockey Ground to share the excitement.
By playing good team hockey and with the presence of the tournament MVP, Khalsa has beaten Elite X to claim the Cup title while MIHK defeated Elite B in the Plate final. KCC had lifted the youth trophy by out-performing Shaheen earlier.
Tournament sponsors Polytan and Business Link also donated some funds and hockey sticks to the local charity group for the youths to continue playing hockey after the free summer course during the summer.
Elite Sports Club extended its congratulations to all the winning teams on winning and rewarded them with prizes. They extended their appreciation to the participating teams on joining the fun on celebrating 40th anniversary.
Elite Sports Club thanked the sponsors on supporting the tournament and players who had spent a memorable day playing hockey.
