ANOC in Hong Kong for 2026 talks On Thursday, the organisation’s Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg met with Rosanna Law, Hong Kong’s newly appointed Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism, to discuss preparations for the 2026 ANOC General Assembly.

The meeting was also attended by Kenneth Fok, President of the Organising Committee, Vivian Sum, Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Edgar Yang, Secretary General of the NOC of Hong Kong.

Secretary General Lindberg remarked, “It was excellent to meet with Minister Law and colleagues from the Hong Kong NOC to discuss preparation for next year’s ANOC General Assembly.

 

 

“It is clear that the General Assembly is very much aligned with the city’s sport strategy and that the event has the full support of the government and the NOC. I have no doubt that Hong Kong will make a fantastic host and ensure that the world’s NOCs have the very best environment to meet, discuss, and share ideas.”

Mr Fok provided an update on the newly formed Organising Committee, highlighting the strong cooperation among all parties involved in the event’s planning.

Minister Law reaffirmed the government’s full support for the Assembly, emphasising its importance to Hong Kong’s strategy of attracting international events. She also highlighted the city’s new facilities for future sporting events and stressed the role of the ANOC General Assembly in strengthening global relations.
