UniKL Ladies emerged as the new TNB Champions of Malaysia Hockey League (Women) 2021

History was created when UniKL Ladies emerged the new TNB Champions of Malaysia Hockey League (Women) 2021 in their first appearance after defeating Sabah 7-0 in the fourth match of the league at Bukit Jalil National Hockey Stadium

Although there is still one match left, UniKL Ladies is legally crowned as the league champion after maintaining an unbeaten record by grabbing 12 full points and only need to complete the match schedule in the last action of the league this Wednesday.

For UniKL Ladies, the success in the first appearance is definitely a very sweet achievement because apart from realizing the initial target of becoming the champion, the victory continues to strengthen the university squad’s reputation as a national men’s and women’s hockey superpower.

UniKL Ladies ensured an absolute victory over Sabah with the excellent performance of hat-trick scorer Nuramirah Shakirah Zulkifli who managed to score in the 14th, 41st, 50th and 54th minutes.

The hat -trick boosted his position as the league’s top scorer so far with 7 goals from four games.

UniKL Ladies’ other goals came through Khairunnisa Ayuni Mohd Sharuddin in the 4th minute and Nur Atira Mohamad Is in the 23rd and 29th minutes. UniKL Ladies will complete the league campaign against Young Tigress on Wednesday (March 24).

 

Mutiara Juniors PSHA 1-13 PKS Uniten-KPT

Nur Zafirah Aziz’s five goals helped PKS Uniten-KPT to a big 13-1 win over Mutiara Juniors PSHA as well as strengthening the squad’s position to become the league runners-up.

The 23 -year -old’s big goal also boosted Nur Zafirah’s position as one of the main candidates to emerge as the league’s top scorer with five goals.

Realizing the fierce competition from the main challenger of PDRM Blue Warriors who also had the opportunity to grab the runner-up title, PKS Uniten-KPT came down with the goal of producing as many goals as possible to get a goal advantage if the points position is tied.

Both the Uniten-KPT SME teams and the PDRM Blue Warriors are tied for second place in the league with seven points each. PKS Uniten-KPT, however, gained an advantage with the difference in goals scored.

Nur Zafirah scored three goals from penalty corners in the 11th, 36th and 54th minutes while two more goals came from field goals in the 25th and 27th minutes.

Nuraslinda Said opened the scoring in the 2nd minute followed by another goal in the 40th minute while Siti Zulaikha Husain also twice found the target in the 45th and 48th minutes.

Other goals were scored by Nur Insyirah Effarizal (7th minute), Surizan Awang (35th minute) and two goals through Nurmaizatul Hanim Syafi Shiek Fuad (46th and 49th minutes).

Mutiara Juniors PSHA, however, managed to get a consolation goal in the meeting through a goal by Allisya Yushira Badri in the 10th minute.

Uniten-KPT SME assistant coach, Ikmal Abdul Jabar said the players came down with the target of scoring as many goals as possible to gain an advantage in the last match.

 

PDRM Blue Warriors 9 – 0 Young Tigress

PDRM Blue Warriors ensured their position in the top four and then qualified for the semi-finals of the Vivian May Soars Cup after an easy 9-0 win over Young Tigress.

However, the failure of PDRM to score a bigger goal saw Uniten-KPT SMEs take over the second position despite being tied with 17 points.

PKS Uniten-KPT got the advantage when they scored 18 goals compared to 17 goals scored by PDRM.

Nurfatin Dizana Mohd Zaidi (4th, 40th minute) and Wan Norfaezah Md Saiuti (54th and 57th minutes) each scored two goals for the PDRM Blue Warriors to record a big victory over the country’s young development squad.

Meanwhile, Nurul Safiqah Mat Isa (19th minute), Norhaskin Halim (28th minute), Fatin Shafika Mohd Sukri (43), Nadia Abdul Rahman (44) and Norbaini Hashim (51) each contributed one goal.

Against Mutiara Juniors PSHA in the final match this Wednesday, apart from the victory, PDRM will definitely be hunting for big goals to ensure that the runner -up title belongs to them.
