An action-packed day at the Men’s and Women’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 saw the finalists confirmed as teams battled through classification matches and semi-finals in Kakamigahara, Japan.
The day featured dramatic shoot-outs, closely contested encounters and dominant performances as the race for continental glory reached its final stage.
## Women’s U18 Asia Cup
The first semi-final delivered one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament as China and India played out a 2-2 draw in regulation time. China held their nerve in the shoot-out, securing a 3-1 victory to book their place in the final.
In the second semi-final, hosts Japan edged Korea 1-0 in a tightly contested encounter. A disciplined performance and solid defence ensured Japan advanced to the championship match in front of their home supporters.
The Women’s Final will see China face Japan in a highly anticipated battle for the title.
## Men’s U18 Asia Cup
The classification matches saw China defeat Chinese Taipei 4-3 in an entertaining 7th/8th Place Match, while Korea overcame Bangladesh 2-1 to secure fifth place.
In the semi-finals, Japan produced one of the performances of the tournament, defeating Malaysia 8-1 to comfortably secure their place in the Gold Medal Match.
India joined them in the final after an exciting 5-3 victory over Pakistan in Semi-Final 2. The contest featured attacking hockey from both sides, with India ultimately emerging victorious to set up a blockbuster final against Japan.
