The team’s first Olympic Game was played in Sydney 2000, where they finished in the 5th place. Their best performance to date was during Beijing 2008, where they won the Silver medal after losing to the Netherlands.
China’s worst result in an Olympic game was in Rio 2016 when they could not go through the preliminary rounds, finishing 9th place with very poor performance: they lost almost every match and had only one tie-game.
The team currently holds the 10th place in the world ranking, with a much younger and empowered team, looking forward to going to Tokyo 2020.
China’s matches for the Olympic Qualifiers will take place in the Wujin Hockey Stadium, Changzhou, against Belgium, and they will have the advantage of playing locally.
