The much-anticipated Level 1 Umpiring Course kicked off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, today, marking the beginning of an exciting four-day journey from January 14 to 17. This program aims to enhance umpiring skills and knowledge, setting a strong foundation for participants to excel in the field of hockey officiating.

The course is being led by the highly esteemed Mr. Khamis Al Balushi, an International Umpire and FIH Educator. With his vast experience and expertise, Mr. Al Balushi is guiding participants through the essential principles of umpiring, focusing on rules interpretation, decision-making, and game management.

Day 1 included interactive sessions, discussions on the latest updates in hockey regulations, and practical exercises designed to sharpen participants’ judgment and on-field confidence. Aspiring umpires had the opportunity to learn directly from one of the best, gaining insights into the nuances of international umpiring.
