Women’s Asian Champions Trophy showcases talents from top five Asian Ranked Teams. The flagship tournament was held in Busan, South Korea in 2010, in which the Hosts emerged with gold, beating Japan by 2 goals to 1. The 2011 edition of the event was held in Ordos, China. South Korea emerged victorious again, this time beating hosts, China. The third edition was held in Kakamigahara, Japan, where Japan defeated an improved India side, in a nail-biting 1 – 0 thriller. The latest edition, 2016, was held in Singapore. India, building up on their previous performances, won their first gold medal, beating China 2-1.
South Korea leads the title tables, with two gold medals in three appearances, while Japan and India have one gold medal each. Japan is the only team to finish at a podium position in all four editions of the event, 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze. Will the hosts build-up on their titles or will the defending champions over power them and level things up?
