Lauring Delforge, an FIH Pro League Umpire from Belgium recently conducted a sharing session for coaches and development players on Friday the 24th of May at SportsSG. In this session, Laurine shared with the audience her journey in hockey as a player and as an umpire. She also shared some tips on how she prepares for competition and her personal philosophy on playing and umpiring hockey.
Laurine is an accomplished player and umpire, having a career in hockey from an early age. Most notably, she umpired the Olympic Final in 2016 at the young age of 25. She is also currently playing at the highest level in Belgium and has recently won the National Championship with her club, the Royal Antwerp Hockey Club.
The entire session was a great hands-on learning experience for the players and coaches of Singapore, and the AHF is proud of such an initiative.
