Lahore: January 26, 2021: Sports Minister Rai Timur Khan Bhatti inaugurated the first Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Division Hockey Championship. The first Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Divisional Hockey Championship was organized by Sports Board Punjab in collaboration with Pakistan Hockey Federation and Punjab Hockey Association. On the opening day, four matches were played. The first match was played between Gujranwala Division and Rawalpindi Division which was won by Gujranwala Division with 0-4 goals. The special guest of this match was Director Sports, Sports Board Punjab Muhammad Hafeez Bhatti.
The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed on arrival at the stadium and was introduced to the players and team officials. The second match was played between Sahiwal Division and Sargodha Division which was won by Sargodha Division 0-2. The special guest of this match was Punjab Hockey Association Lieutenant Colonel R Asif Naz Khokhar. The distinguished guest was accorded a hearty welcome on arrival at the stadium and was introduced to the players and team officials. The third match was played between Bahawalpur Division and Dera Ghazi Khan Division which was won by Bahawalpur Division by 0-5 goals. Bahawalpur Division scored the most goals on the first day of the event. The fourth match was played between Lahore Division and Multan Division which Lahore Division won 0-2.
The special guest of the inauguration ceremony was Rai Timur Khan Bhatti, Provincial Minister for Sports. Special guests of the function included Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Adnan Arshad Olakh, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Fawad Hashim Rabbani and other guests. The colorful opening ceremony featured a beautiful march past of the teams, Punjab torch, fireworks, songs by the police band, performances by traditional artists in the cultural show and performances by renowned singers including world renowned stars Malik and Humaira Arshad. ‘S performance tied the knot.
