We congratulate and acknowledge the work of Lim Hong Zhen, a veteran Umpire from Singapore who umpired his 100th International match today. Mr. Lim also earned the FIH Golden Whistle, which is an incredible achievement in the sport of Hockey.
Mr. Lim’s international career kicked off in 2007 and he quickly established himself as a capable official in Asia. His first break came in 2010 when he was appointed for the Guangzhou Asian Games. Mr. Lim continued to make a name for himself and World Hockey was starting to recognize his efforts as he was appointed for the Junior World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Champions Trophy.
The highlights of his career were officiating the Rio Olympics 2016 and the prestigious World cup in 2018. Over the years Mr. Lim has maintained his place as one of the best umpires in the game. We look forward to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Lim Hong Zhen is set take part in the mega event, adding to his impressive resume.
