Malaysia have only themselves to blame for not picking up the bronze medal in the women’s 3/4th placing match of the AHF Asian Indoor Championship in Chonburi.
They lost 1-0 in a penalty shootout after the match in regulation time ended 1-1.
Uzbekistan had taken a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute through Kamilla Adizova.
Malaysia failed to score from two penalty strikes in regulation time.
And they also failed to score from 10 penalty corners awarded.
Their equaliser came just 10 seconds before the final whistle as Nor Isahhidun concerted the third penalty strike awarded in the match to Malaysia.
However it was Uzbekistan that took third as they managed to score a goal in the shoot out while Malaysia failed in all three attempts.
