It is said that people leave the world, they leave behind a legacy of their service and their love. Mr. Shimul was dearly loved for his kindness and endeavors towards the development of hockey. His departure from world is a great loss to the Asian and Bangladesh Hockey consortiums. We as a ménage mourn over the afflictive demise of our comrade. Hockey fellowship all over Asia and Bangladesh share this pain and loss with family of Mr. Shimul. His voice for development of Bangladesh Hockey will always sound in air as long as the world lasts.
Mr. Shimul extended innumerable services to hockey regarding sport, organization and umpiring. He was a gallant national hockey player, splendid umpire, brilliant organizer and above all a dearest confrère. He served as an executive member in Bangladesh Hockey Federation. He exhausted great efforts as a member in Development and Coaching Committee of Asian Hockey Federation and as an AHF-FIH Technical Official. He is widely regarded as a voice of Bangladesh Hockey on national and international level. His voice for his national federation will always echo in time.

“With a heavy heart I would like to inform you that our former BHF member, also AHF Development and Coaching Committee Member & AHF -FIH Technical Official, Hasan Uddin Ahmed Shimul passed away last night. We are deeply saddened, may he be rest in peace. Our prayers are with his departed soul and we would like to offer our deepest condolences to his family.
He was a valuable asset to Bangladesh Hockey since he started his hockey career long back. His contribution is well marked not only bounded in nationally but also internationally. His lose is unrepairable to all sorts of hockey. The news of his demise has deeply distressed all the members of BHF certainly. I, on the behalf of Bangladesh Hockey Federation convey my love and sympathies to the family and I wish that Almighty may bless us all with the strength to go through this situation.
