Olympians XI won the exhibition hockey match between Olympians XI and Balochistan Veterans on March 31, 21. Ali Abbas Famous hockey Olympians defeated Balochistan Veterans 2-9. Olympians XI’s goalkeeper Abu Dharr Amrau’s brilliant and lively performance won him Man of the Match and he was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 by the management.
According to details, a day before the semi-finals of the Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup Hockey Tournament under the auspices of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Balochistan, an exhibition hockey match was held between former Olympians and international players of Pakistan and Balochistan Veterans. Olympians XI was led by Pride of Performance Olympian and former Secretary General Pakistan Hockey Federation Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan while the vice-captain of the team was former Pakistan Right Wing Half Olympian Anjum Saeed. Retired Col. Asif Naz Khokhar was the manager of Olympian XI while Rana Khalid International was the assistant manager, Rai Usman Akbar Kharal was the chief coach and Ramzan Jamali was the assistant coach.
Secretary Balochistan Hockey Association Amjad Satti led the Balochistan Veterans. Balochistan Veterans Manager Abdul Ghaffar Mengal Assistant Manager Hussain Takri Coach Ashraf Bangalzai and Assistant Coach Ijaz Anjum performed their duties.
The rising stars of the hockey world got off to a great start under the leadership of Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan. On behalf of Olympians XI, Olympian Shakeel Abbasi scored three brilliant goals while Olympian Waqas Sharif scored two goals, Olympian Muhammad Usman Sheikh, Olympian Anjum Saeed, Olympian Tahir Zaman, Captain Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan scored one goal each. Kamran Sabir and captain Amjad Satti scored one goal each for Balochistan Veterans. The match was supervised by former international umpire Kamran Sharif Chaudhry and umpire Munawar Hussain while Haroon Rasheed was the reserve umpire. The judges of the match were M Shakeel, M Ahsan, Fahad Ali Kayani, M Idress and Ali Abbas.
