Muscat, Oman – 20 July 2026: The Men’s Asian Hockey5s Championship 2026 got off to a thrilling start in Muscat, Oman, with five exciting matches showcasing the speed, skill, and intensity of Hockey5s competition.
In the Men’s Elite category, Pakistan opened their campaign in impressive fashion with a commanding 5–0 victory over hosts Oman. Pakistan continued their winning momentum later in the day by defeating Bangladesh 5–2, securing two victories from two matches and making a strong statement in the tournament.
India also enjoyed a successful start, overcoming Bangladesh 7–3 in an entertaining encounter packed with attacking hockey and spectacular goals.
In the Men’s Challenger category, Iran produced two dominant performances. They first defeated Iraq 5–0 before delivering the biggest win of the day with a convincing 9–0 triumph over Saudi Arabia, underlining their title ambitions.
