Sri Lanka hosts a level 1 Coaching course in Colombo

The Asian Hockey Federation held a national level 1 coaching course from June 2 – 10, 2019 for the coaches of Sri Lanka in Colombo. 59 coaches participated in the course. The course was a success with everything going smoothly. The coaches benefitted greatly from the course and were able to enhance their skill set. Technically they were involved in the theory and practical sessions.

The objectives of this course were Coach Education and elite youth player development program. The technical and tactical skills were coached in the situation of the game and not in isolation. These teaching methods helped the coaches develop a deeper understanding of the game and they gained the knowledge of the why, what, how and where components of achieving these skills.
