Three important persons from Oman have been given key positions by the Asian Hockey Federation. Dr. Khamis Salim Al Rahbi has been appointed as Chairman International Relations Committee Gulf Region and as a Member AHF Events Committee, Mr. Anwar Ahmed Amer Bait Fadhil has been appointed Chairman AHF Development and Engagement Committee Gulf Region, and Mr. Salim Gharib Obaid Al Qartoubi has been appointed as Deputy Chairman AHF Development and Engagement Committee Gulf Region.
These appointments have been made on the basis of the dedication and devotion these individuals have shown for the sport of hockey as well as relevant qualifications and experience in the field. These individuals will be working very closely with the AHF for the betterment of the sport of hockey in the Gulf region.
The first and foremost task of the committee will be to establish long term future plans in line with AHF strategy and to provide yearly targets. The plans should be in congruence with the goals set by the Executive Board of AHF and should primarily be aimed for growth and development of hockey in the Gulf region and enhanced communication and relations with partners and stakeholders in the region.
This step from the AHF, with help from these experienced individuals, will prove to be quite beneficial for the sport of hockey in the Gulf region. It is intended that the flame for the sport will be reignited and hockey will reach unprecedented heights in the region.
