Bangkok, 05 May 2022: In a magnanimous ceremony held at the Novotel Future Park Hotel Rangsit Thailand, on 5th May 2022, the trophy of the Men’s Asian Games Qualifier 2022 was unveiled.
Following dignitaries honoured the ceremony with their presence:
- Dato Tayyab Ikram – Chief Executive, Asian Hockey Federation
- Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat – President Thailand Hockey Association
- Vice-Admiral Wiler Samabat – Chairman Local Organising Committee
- Admiral Atinart Pajayakrit – CEO Thailand Hockey Association
President Thailand Hockey Association and Vice-President Asian Hockey Federation Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat, in his welcoming remarks, offered his gratitude to the Asian Hockey Federation for the chance to host the event. He cordially welcomed the participating teams, the AHF hockey family and all of Thailand to the event. He provided a detailed account of the vast latest developments and advancements in hockey of Thailand including the formation of international hockey academy, new indoor and outdoor hockey facilities.
Chief Executive Asian Hockey Federation Dato Tayyab Ikram thanked the host Thailand Hockey Association. He narrated the remarkable efforts involved by all the participating teams for their participation especially Sri Lanka to whom Dato Tayyab paid his special tribute. He mentioned that Thailand was already on a glorious path of hockey development. Dato Tayyab also formally announced the formation of AHF Hockey Academy in Thailand which was allocated to a newly constructed mega facility; which involved massive efforts from Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat. The facility also got installed a pitch which was originally used in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, serving as a legacy of the Games and a distinctive feature for Thailand Hockey Association. Dato Tayyab paid his homage to Dato Seri Siriwat, his family, and his team for their splendid work in service of hockey.
Dato Tayyab Ikram on behalf of Asian Hockey Federation presented the Hosting Certificate of the Men’s Asian Games Qualifier 2022 to the President Thailand Hockey Association Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat. Dato Tayyab Ikram, Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat and the team captains of all the participating teams unveiled the trophy of the Men’s Asian Games Qualifier 2022.
