U-21 Junior Women’s National Hockey Championships Sri Lanka

Back

The U-21 Junior Women’s National Hockey Championships was recently concluded in Sri Lanka and it was a huge success. This was the first U-21 Women’s Championship to take place in Sri Lanka and all credit to the Sri Lankan Hockey Federation on organizing such a wonderful and competitive championship. It is in their plans now to keep having this event and help grow hockey starting from the youth. This is a great initiative and this will certainly see a lot of development for the sport that we all love so much.

The results for this Tournament saw Wennappuwa Hockey Association take a 2-1 victory in the final over Kandy Hockey Association. The 2nd Runnerup was the Colombo Hockey Association who won their last match in a shootout, 3-2, against the Sri Lanka Schools (Gold).

We at the AHF would like to congratulate all the participating teams and Sri Lanka Hockey Federation for organizing such a championship and we look forward to such exciting tournaments in the future.
