Uzbekistan registered a convincing 6-0 win over Bangladesh in the Air Asia Women’s Junior Asia Cup Qualifiers at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium in Singapore.
The win gives them a good chance of booking the second spot in the tournament which in turn will enable them to qualify for the Junior Asia Cup in Japan in April 2020.
They are currently in second spot with seven points, the same as Chinese Taipei, but with a superior goal difference.
Hence their final match against Sri Lanka will determine their fate.
Uzbekistan has been largely unlucky in the tournament thus far as they had created more chances then their opponents in previous matches but their poor finishing let them down.
The started their campaign in the tournament with a convincing 5-0 win over Hong Kong before going down narrowly 0-1 against Singapore.
And they were held to a 2-2 draw by Chinese Taipei therefore jolting their chances of a top two finish for the tournament.
As for Bangladesh, they lost 0-3 in their opening match before notching a win over Sri Lanka 2-0.
However they were edged 1-0 by Hong Kong in their third match.
Uzbekistan raced to a 3-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes of the match, courtesy of goals via Zulfiyalhon Kasanboeva ( 5th and 15th minutes) and Adiba Zabinova in the 17th minute.
Two goals by Gulrukh Ramonozova in the 30th and 45th minutes gave Uzbekistan a 5-0 lead.
And Shahkrizoda Zakhramonova made it 6-0 in the 54th minute.
