The Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2020 is going to take place from the 6th to 12th of April, 2020, in Kakamigahara, Japan. The Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2020 is the continental qualifier for the 2021 FIH Junior World Cup and the top 3 teams from the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2020 will qualify for the Junior World Cup.
The previous installment of the Women’s Junior Asia Cup was held in Changzhou, China in September 2015 and saw China win the tournament ahead of Japan and Korea.
At the 2016 FIH Junior World Cup, Japan was the highest finisher from Asia with 9th place, followed by China in 10th and Korea in 12th place. China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand were automatically qualified for the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2020 based on the final ranking of the previous Junior Asia Cup, while Singapore and Uzbekistan qualified for participation by finishing at the top of the final rankings at the AirAsia Women’s Junior AHF Cup in December 2019.
