Muscat, Oman – 21 July 2026: Day 2 of the 2026 Women’s Asian Hockey5s delivered another exciting round of matches, with India and China maintaining their unbeaten records in the Elite Pool, while Iran continued its dominant run in the Challenger Pool.
The day’s action began with Iran producing a commanding performance to defeat hosts Oman 11–0. Iran showcased clinical finishing throughout the contest, with Abedinifar Setareh earning the Player of the Match award after an outstanding display.
The Elite Pool then witnessed one of the tournament’s most entertaining encounters as China and India played out a thrilling 2–2 draw. Both sides displayed high-quality attacking hockey and resilient defending, sharing the points in a closely fought contest. India’s NAZ Nousheen was named Player of the Match for her influential performance.
In the Challenger Pool, Iran secured its second victory of the tournament with a 4–1 win over Pakistan, extending its lead at the top of the standings. Zarebidoki Setayesh delivered another exceptional performance and was deservedly named Player of the Match.
India returned to action later in the evening with a dominant 16–0 victory over Uzbekistan in the Elite Pool. Displaying relentless attacking intent from the opening whistle, India recorded the biggest win of the tournament so far. KUMARI Sandeepa received the Player of the Match award for her excellent all-round contribution.
The final match of the day saw China continue its unbeaten campaign with a 5–1 victory over Kazakhstan. A composed team performance secured another important three points for China, while LU Tongtong was named Player of the Match after another outstanding display.
Following the conclusion of Day 2, India and China sit level on seven points at the top of the Elite Pool, separated only by goal difference, while Iran leads the Challenger Pool with six points after two consecutive victories.
The tournament continues in Muscat as teams battle for places in the semi-finals and qualification to the FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2026.
