Chief Minister Punjab Five Side National Women Hockey Champion: Pakistan WAPDA and Punjab Colors reached the final, Army lost to Punjab Color and Railways to Pakistan WAPDA.
Under the auspices of Pakistan Hockey Federation under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab, the semi-finals of the first Chief Minister Punjab 5A Side National Women’s Hockey Championship have been decided. Pakistan WAPDA and Punjab Clerk teams reached the final. In the first semi-final played at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore on Tuesday, Pakistan WAPDA defeated Pakistan Railways 1-2 in a thrilling match to reach the final.
Hira Latif and Nada Asghar scored for APDA. Sarika Sarwar scored the only goal for Railways. In the second semi-final, Punjab Klar defeated Army 4-1 after a thrilling contest. Mehk Rasheed, Maryam Hussain scored one goal each and Sidra Hakim scored two goals for Punjab. Asma scored the only goal for Army. DG Sports Punjab announced a prize of Rs. 10,000.
The team was awarded Rs 40,000. Sweets were distributed at the National Hockey Stadium on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The special guests of the semi-finals were Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Olakh and Begum Zakia Adnan Arshad Olakh. Olympian Khawaja Junaid, General Manager Pakistan Hockey Federation Tanzeela Amir Cheema, Director Admin Javed Chauhan, Director Sports Muhammad Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Director Sports Chand Parveen and others were also present.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation has deployed veteran technical officials and umpires to supervise this magnificent event in accordance with FIH rules. Former Senior Provincial Coach Sports Board Punjab Rana Khalid Iqbal is performing the duties of tournament director and umpire’s manager.
The final of the championship will be played on Wednesday, October 20 at 7 pm while the match for the third and fourth position will be played at 6 pm.
