Dr Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain was appointed Chief Executive Officer, taking responsibility for overseeing executive operations in line with the event’s strategic objectives, while QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain presented the Games’ master plan and provided key updates.

Doha was awarded the hosting rights by the Olympic Council of Asia in 2020 following a risk-free bid that highlighted Qatar’s existing world-class venues. Alongside preparations for hosting the Games, Qatar has also focused on competitive readiness, implementing a comprehensive athlete development strategy that supports performance, education, health and long-term monitoring in the build-up to Doha 2030.
