Indonesia pulled off the upset and defeated Sri Lanka 5-1. The team coached by Dhaarma Raj took the field to show that they want to keep the sixth place in this qualifying tournament to get their ticket to the Asian Games. On the other hand, Sri Lanka did not have the best of their matches, although they had chances, they could not convert and accumulated their third consecutive defeat.

The girls in red came out to the field with everything, knowing that it was an important match for them to continue in the qualifying zone for the Asain Games, that is why in the first 6 and 7 minutes of the game respectively Nur Anisa put her team in advantage to mark what the team led by ISLAMY Annur was looking for in today’s match.

Sri Lanka could not find its way and Indonesia was more confident than ever, that’s why in the 22nd minute its captain Annur El ISLAMY converted a penalty corner, getting alone at the goalkeeper’s right post to put it in the goal with a sweep.

With the 3-0 lead Sri Lanka had their chances, but the Indonesian defense was responding very well to those advances.

4 minutes after the last goal SUWITO Yuanita after a skillful play that she generated on her own, got into the box to make a 2 on 1 to the goalkeeper and was left alone to push it and make it 4-0.

Sri Lanka tried to react at the end of the third quarter through a penalty corner that went in almost asking permission to RUMBIAK Iryani’s goal.

With the result and the ball control more oriented towards the red team, both teams tried to leave the last on the field, but it was to Indonesia’s luck that managed to extend the lead with a phenomenal drag flick by AULIA Rahma Dwi during a penalty corner that made the final score 5-1.
