PHF 4 Teams Hockey Series Journeys Successfully

Navy beats Sui Southern Gas in PHF 4 Teams Hockey Series organized under the auspices of Pakistan Hockey Federation. There was a match-draw After a thrilling match between Pakistan Juniors and WAPDA. Former Navy hockey player and coach Muhammad Naeem was the special guest of the first match. While the special guest of the second match was Mansoor-ul-Haq Bhatta of WAPDA Sports Control Board.

In the fifth match of the PHF 4 teams hockey series, Pakistan Navy defeated Sui Southern Gas by 3-1. The sixth match ended in a 1-1 draw after a thrilling match between Pakistan Juniors and Pakistan WAPDA. Four teams including Pakistan Junior Hockey Team are participating in this double-league based hockey series being played at National Hockey Stadium Ground No. 2 Lahore. Teams include Pakistan Juniors, Pakistan WAPDA, Sui Southern Gas and Pakistan Navy. Lt. Col (R) Asif Naz Khokhar has been appointed as the Tournament Director of the event while FIH Umpires’ Manager Rashid Mahmood Butt is performing his duties as Umpires’ Manager.

The first match was played between Pakistan Navy and Sui Southern Gas which was won by Pakistan Navy 1-3. Akbar Ali, Shahbaz and Hammad Ali scored for Pakistan Navy while Rana Sohail scored the lone goal for Sui Southern Gas. The match was supervised by umpires Mazhar Wasim and Sabteen Raza while Atif Malik was the reserve umpire. The technical officer of the match was Shafqat Malik while the judges were Syed Ali Abbas and Muhammad Naeem.

The sixth match of the event and today’s second match was played between Pakistan Juniors and Pakistan WAPDA ended in a 1-1 draw. The game had to be stopped for a while due to heavy rain. However, the game resumed later. Aleem Usman of Pakistan WAPDA took the lead through a field goal while promising drag-flicker Rizwan of Pakistan Juniors ended the lead by scoring a goal on a penalty corner in the 30th minute of the game. The match was supervised by umpires Atif Malik and Yasir Khurshid while Mazhar Wasim was the reserve umpire. Syed Ali Abbas acted as the technical officer of the match while Shafqat Malik and Mohammad Naeem acted as the judges.

Former Pakistan Navy player and coach Muhammad Naeem was the special guest of today’s first match while Mansoor-ul-Haq Bhatta of WAPDA Sports Control Board was the special guest of the second match. Distinguished guests were warmly welcomed on arrival at the ground and were introduced to the players and officials. Chairman National Hockey Selection Committee Olympian Manzoor Jr., Secretary-General PHF Olympian Asif Bajwa, Staff Officer President PHF Zahoor Janjua were also present in the stadium to review the performance of the players.
