The Ramadan Hockey Tournament, in its first edition, started from 8 April at nine thirty in the evening, and it is the first official tournament organized by the game association after its new formation headed by Abdullah Al-Dah.
26 teams in total are participating in this 5-side tournament.
Abdullah Sultan Al-Dah confirmed in press statements that the first edition of the championship was arranged in a distinctive way, pointing to cooperation and coordination with Sharjah Police in preparing for a distinguished opening ceremony in the presence of Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police. It was a sensational opening ceremony concluding with the presentation of all the teams in their match official kits.
Abdullah al dah also praised the participation of Sharjah Police in this team. The tournament, and he said in a press statement: “The most distinctive feature of the tournament is the participation of 16 teams of elite companies and institutions, bringing together citizen and resident players.”
The five-a-side competition has attracted a total of 16 teams and offers a cash prize of more than Dhs33,000.
All the citizens and players are very much enthusiastic for the ongoing tournament, describing as a healthy activity and entertainment during the holy month of Ramadan.
