Thailand and Uzbekistan Draw Match 6

Back

After the postponement of the match, on Sunday, May 8, the pending Day 2 match #6 between Thailand and Uzbekistan was played.

It was a very close match between the two of them. Where the Thai team was encouraged to move forward and be more offensive to reach the opponent’s area, on the other hand the team led by Okhunjon Mirzakarimov tried to be more defensive, channeling every attack of the yellow team and taking advantage of every offensive contact to penetrate the goal.

Both the first and second quarters were back and forth, where both teams had the opportunity to advance both through the center of the field and on the wings.

The first goal came in the 37th minute for Thanakrit Boon-Art from a penalty stroke, after player #20 Borirak Harapan shot at goal and an Uzbekistan player stopped it on the line with his foot, preventing the ball from going in.

Relief had come for the Yellows, who were trying to keep this result until the end of the match.

But in the 56th minute, 4 minutes before the end of the match, the team in white found a short corner that would allow Shokhrukhbek Salimjonov to convert a ball that came out super strong and rebounded into the goal.

Thus the match ended 1-1 with a very entertaining game that deserved a little more.

Thailand will play Oman on Tuesday, May 10 in Pool A and Uzbekistan will play Kazakhstan on Monday, May 9.
