The Hawke’s Bay Cup 2016, which will be held at the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park in Hastings, New Zealand will kick start on the 2nd of April. It is an interesting event held annually as part of the Festival of Hockey which aims to bring the sport to the forefront and promote it to the masses.

The event will be held at the Hawke’s Bay, as suggested by the name of the Cup. Hawke’s Bay is located on the East Coast of New Zealand’s North Island. It is a great spot to visit with numerous fun activities to do with your friends and family.

This year the eight participating teams are: Australia, China, Canada, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea and New Zealand. Four of the participating teams are from Asia. The hockey teams of China, India, Japan and Korea have already displayed some spectacular hockey skills on the field over the past year, thus earning them a place in the Rio Olympics and now the Hawke’s Bay Cup 2016 as well.

With the event only a few days away, the participating teams are currently arriving at the venue for the event. The teams will spend the week on practice matches to gear up for the actual event.

It will be the first time that Canada and Ireland will be participating in the Hawke’s Bay Cup. Both teams have shown impressive performance over the past year and we hope to see some quality hockey skills from their side. With some of the internationally best hockey teams, Canada and Ireland will have to watch out and be confident about their game plan as they will have to face some fierce competition on the field.

The Hawke’s Bay Cup will culminate on the 10th of April. It will be a week long event which will showcase some amazing hockey goals, worth watching live, to the spectators as some of the best teams of hockey will be playing against each other striving their hardest to prove themselves to be the bestest of the best. May the best team win!
